How the App is Laid Out

Two bars. Everything accessible.

Linni uses a bottom navigation bar and a top app bar to keep the whole system one tap away — no buried menus.

The Spaces dropdown acts as a master filter — switch between Work, Home, or any other life area to see only what belongs to that world. Switch to All to see everything.

Capture

The + button is everywhere.

Add any of the seven object types from virtually any screen. Capture does not have to wait for the right moment or the right page.

Add from anywhere

The + button is always available — on the Calendar, in any list, even in Settings. Create any of the seven object types or start an AI interaction without navigating away from what you were doing.

Capture without losing context

Add a Goal while looking at your Topics. Log a Note while reviewing your Calendar. Your capture never has to wait for the right screen.

Save and add another

When you're on a roll, save an item and immediately start the next one. Rapid capture stays rapid.

Calendar

The home screen is your Calendar.

Linni opens on the Calendar. Day view and month view, color-coded by type, with a Planning Needed section that keeps you from losing unscheduled work.

Day view

Scheduled Actions, Events, and Notes displayed in a 15-minute grid. Vertical bars show busy time at a glance — spot your open windows without reading every item.

Month view

Color-coded dots under each date: red for Actions, green for Events, blue for Notes. Select any day for a summary of what is scheduled.

Planning Needed

Goals that need a next step and unscheduled Actions surface here automatically. The app turns capture into commitment — from 'I recorded this' to 'I know when I will act on it.'

Red — Actions

Things to complete

Green — Events

Things that occur

Blue — Notes

Things to remember

Sets

Goals, Contexts, and Topics all work the same way.

Each Set has a detail view and an elements view, toggled by a single caret. Add supporting metadata to the Set itself, and browse or add Actions, Events, and Notes inside it.

Detail vs. Elements

Every Set (Goal, Context, or Topic) has two views toggled by a caret. One shows the Set itself — edit its name, status, and supporting Details. The other shows every Action, Event, and Note inside it.

Status control

Mark any Set or item Active, Muted, Filed, or Complete. Muted keeps something available but out of sight. Filed preserves it for history. Nothing is deleted until you choose.

Item conversion

Change an item's type when its meaning evolves. A Note can become an Action. A Goal can become a Topic. Capture fast, refine as you go.

Planning Signals

Lightweight tools for serious planning.

Next actions, pins, flags, reminders, and recurring work — all without creating new object types or adding complexity to the data model.

Next action

Mark an Action as the next action within a Goal to identify the meaningful next move. A Goal with a scheduled next action is considered planned.

Pin and flag

Pin raises an item or Set to the top of its list. Flag marks something as needing attention. Together with next actions, these signals express planning judgment without creating extra object types.

Recurring work

Recurring Events repeat by time. Recurring Actions require individual completion — each instance is separate, preserving its Set relationships and completion history.

Reminders

Set local notifications for Actions and Events at or before their scheduled time. Tapping a notification opens the specific item directly.

System Log

A searchable record of everything.

The System Log shows every item in your system in the order it was created. Filter, search, and act on results in bulk. What you captured stays findable.

System Log

A chronological feed of everything in your system — Actions, Events, Notes, Goals, Contexts, Topics, and AI Interactions. Sort by date, filter by type, or search across all of it.

Filters and search

Isolate a single object type, search by keyword with AND logic, or include completed and filed records. The system finds what you captured, even when you can't remember exactly where it lives.

Multi-select and bulk actions

Filter to one object type, then select multiple items. Update, reassign, complete, or delete in a single move. Weekly review and cleanup stay practical as your system grows.

AI Assistant

An assistant that knows your system.

Linni's AI uses the structure you have already built — your Goals, Contexts, Topics, today's schedule — to answer questions and suggest next steps in a way that reflects your actual world.

Context-aware chat

When you ask Linni a question, it uses structured context: your selected Set, your Space, connected Elements, today's schedule, and recent items. Responses reflect your actual world, not a generic prompt.

Turn responses into Notes

Save any AI response as a Note and attach it to one or more Sets. Your conversations become part of your structured system — searchable, connectable, and permanent.

Response power

Choose Highest, High, Low, or Lowest — or let Linni decide automatically based on what you're asking. Response power controls depth of reasoning and credit usage.

More

Built for real, sustained use.

Offline-first reliability, encrypted private notes, device calendar import, attachments, and customization — the capabilities that make Linni work as a production tool, not just a prototype.

Offline-first

Core productivity works without a network connection. Data is stored locally and syncs to the cloud in the background when connectivity is available.

Note attachments

Attach images and documents to Notes. Standard attachments use signed storage. Sensitive Notes can use the encrypted vault, keeping attachments fully private.

Note vault

Tier 2 encryption lets you create a private vault for sensitive Actions, Events, and Notes. Vault items are locked by your password and excluded from AI context unless you explicitly unlock them.

Categories

Add descriptors to relationships, not just items. The same contact can be a Vendor in your Work Space and a Store in your Home Space. Categories enable flexible grouping without changing the object model.

Device calendar sync

Import events from your device calendars into Linni. Existing commitments appear alongside your Linni Events, with deduplication to prevent double entries.

Themes and tips

Choose Light, Dark, or System theme. Enable the in-app guide and contextual help lightbulb for any screen. Customize the floating AI button and add button shortcuts from Settings.
